Sanders Family Dental had a jam-packed first week to get all the systems organized and to stock the cabinets with our seemingly endless supplies. We worked out the kinks (or at least we think we did). The phones went live and before we knew it we were anxiously awaiting our full schedule for Monday. As I laid in bed on Sunday night, I had a very surprising sense of calmness. At that time, I had realized that all the preparation over the last several months and the countless hours my family put into this dream of mine was finally coming to a boiling point. WE WERE READY!

The sun rose on Monday just like every other day but this day was different. This was the grand opening of Sanders Family Dental. The dream had become the reality. The prep work was going to be put to the test. We had a full schedule and we were ready to take it head on. The first patient, my wife Stacey, showed up on time :) and my amazing office manager got her in the books and ready for us to treat. Kristine escorted her back to the chair and did a fantastic job getting painless and comfortable X-rays. Then it was my turn! I went through the motions and made sure everything was in working order and it went so smooth I was worried I forgot something. Before I knew it, her appointment was coming to an end and the last "first" patient I was ever going to have was going off without a hitch. Here is when you expect me to say that's when everything fell apart, but it didn't. The whole day went off perfect and just as we had prepared for. My rockstar staff finished up the paperless charts with me and we talked about how great the day was. What an awesome job I have!

I am blessed to be in a community where I can do something that I love and that I have the support from my friends and family to continue to strive to reach my goals. I could write a book about how amazing my wife has been through this whole process but I will just let you all know that without her there is no way I could have even started this. She is amazing and an absolute angel for letting me pursue my dreams.
